Well, if you don't mind me using the same pics (I haven't had a chance to take others yet, but it looks the same anyway )...

I currently have no plans to get drill happy. I know it's just alder, but I like the grain pattern a lot, and the fact that Jimmy's finish guy does the full burst all the way around, makes it hard for me to cover up.

LOL! You will NOT get flamed by me, at least.

However, on this note, I've backburnered a side project for this bass regarding pickguards. I'll get back to it at some point tho. I have an idea for a small change that might yield interesting results. We'll see.

Yeah, it's really hard to beat burst/tort.... REALLY hard to beat it... at least for me.

Why Alleva over Sadowsky or the reverse for that matter?

Lots of guys that I respect here at TB play both, although it would seem that there is less frothing at the bit hysteria with Alleva fans.
