Though they're not seeming to be a hit here on TB, I really like those walnut basses. I could go for that jazz 5 with a tort guard.
I wonder if they're going to be bass's that Jimmy will sell or if they're a 'one off set' for NAMM?

I did a daytime wedding today, the Father of the groom is a friend of the band and as usual sat in on a few tunes, he always brings his bass to our gigs. In any case it's one of those maple fretless P basses and it always sounds killer. As does Christian Mcbrides maple fretless J, If Jimmy is looking to revitalize some old Fender designs that would be cool a fretless KBP with a one piece maple fingerboard....Not sure it would be my thing but i'm Just sayin'

I never Jimmy was such a young guy. Most bass builders are older, so when someone young pops up, it surprises me.
Nino, Benavente, Jimmy, etc.
The pictures don't come close to doing that bass justice...it is gorgeous and I am NOT a fan of red basses.

I echo the "poor Bobby" sentiment. The guys in the DAR booth were really rude. 
However, there was still some good stuff there, and it was kinda' funny how he handled the situation, so I went ahead and posted the vid anyway. Besides, it's Bobby playing his own bass! How could I not post?

Hey Guys, tomorrow is MY picture day and I am part of Jimmy's crew for the show so I am able to get in early. I will take as many nice and clean pics of the basses as I can... And by the way, most of them have sold signs now.
And I am also excited to say that the Candy Apple Orange Juice RA5 is MIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone has any specific questions on the basses please let me know... I've been playing the role of "assistant exhibitor" for the last 3 days and feel I have a good grasp of what they all are... Just maybe not specific measurements like nut width, etc.
And those shortscales... Specifically the pink one... The biggest and phatest P bass you ever heard - no joke! His new pickup design is a homerun in my ears... I think he will experiment with putting those in a full scale bass later on.
And ya, those guitar players are the next booth.... Oh man, there was one moment when I saw the way Sebnem was looking at them that I thought I would see a pile of ashes there and they would've vanished never to sweep pick and fingertap again.

First off, congrats on getting that RA5! That is a gorgeous instrument.
I'm really interested in the walnut basses. Could you give me some general info on those? Are they a special NAMM only run or can customers order more of those? What did you think of the tone? Any info would be great.

The walnut basses are new for NAMM and I believe they can be ordered from now on... They are solid walnut bodies and 1 piece walnut necks with flame maple skunk stripes (super cool!). I've only heard and played the 2 J's... I haven't touched the P cause of those covers and I haven't caught anyone else playing it. First off, they sound like jazz basses, they are very nice and articulate with a nice lower mid punch and aggressiveness specially in the lower notes. Going up the fretboard, it's very warm and rich sounding, notes are thick and even but have this midrange attitude about it.

Yeah, not quite my thing... not really faithful to a specific traditional J or P sound, but really nice in their own right.
I will say this... of all the basses I played, which was a lot of them, your orange one is the one I'd have loved to take home with me. I'm just tellin' you right now, change the locks on your door, get better restraints on the windows, and heck, while you're at it, move without any forwarding information. Know what I mean?
