Club Alleva Coppolo (Part 9)

Per the interview above, I've only talked to Jimmy for a quick minute when I bought my first A-C (the Harvest Gold LM) from him on the phone when he was in NY. I got a sense that he was a cool guy, and a guy I'd enjoy giving my business.

Based on this interview (more like a monologue!)..... I LOVE this guy! What a breath of fresh air. You can tell he is TOTALLY into what he is doing, and the (IMO) perfection of his instruments (at least the ones I've played and the ones I own) makes perfect sense (by perfection, I'm not talking about fancy tops, matching wooding knobs, and multi-lam necks, etc., but the perfection of the feel and tone for the working bassist).

What a great cat! I think it might be time for another:D:eek::hiding:

Yeah, when I ordered my LG5 from Jimmy, I spoke with him multiple times and he is just a class act and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He did everything possible to help and be as informative as he could. He LOVES these instruments and it shows in how he builds them. His attention to detail is second to none.

I will have another Alleva Coppolo soon and I can't wait. It's my pleasure to support Jimmy and his incredible craftsmanship and art.

I agree...that looks bigger to me.
I'm glad to have an older, slimmer body.

While I might not agree with all the new stuff Jimmy's doing, I'm glad to see him doing it. It's that relentless pursuit of doing thins his way that got us the LM and LG.

When he gets the CNC line up and running, I'm likely to buy another LG.

Natural bodies with black guards always look big to me. I'm sure that body is bigger (per Jimmy's comment), but probably not really by much... trick of the eye IMO with that sharp distinction between the black and natural.

I hope the CNC will keep his basic line price lower or he will offer an offshore made model here in the US.

Or I just keep pushing towards the basic.

Yeah, bullet truss rods and micro tilt and 'walnut bodies P Basses' do not exactly bring back memories of Fender's glory years to me.

Again, as long as you can order a nice, base level LM or LG, my feeling is that if he finds all that other stuff cool, god bless him:D

If I didn't have a pile of J's in my house already, I would jump all over that trans red LM pictured above. That is a beauty, and with the blocks and binding and custom color, it probably has a beauty of a price also! If that one sits for a while and is on the 'available' portion of Jimmy's site for a while, I might be in a bit of trouble.
