I think that is his old bass (and Mike's).
Seems to be a great bass. Congrats!
The bass you are talking about (the one Tommix had and then Mikebass had) had one of the standard Indian RW boards if I remember. I really dug it.

I've got serious issues - I did some TB research AKA stalking

It is pretty scary what you can find out on this site!
In any case it's on it's way to me now, and I hope it is great instrument and stays with me forever.
I do wonder why this particular one has been used as the hot potato...

I am pretty sure that's the bass and both Tommix in his FS thread way back and Youngs FS thread say it's Old Growth Honduran Rosewood Fretboard. That was my mistake..
Whatever it is, it's one of the nicest RW boards I've seen. It's not that stupid expensive stuff, but it's really dark and sounds and feels great!
Here's a picture of it (in a pile with a bunch of other J's) at a GTG we did at my house earlier this year. It's a BEAUTY!!!

Thanks for that!
Maybe Tom can elaborate if it has a standard board or if it was old growth with an upcharge of some kind.
In any case I just went back and read the 4 page thread Mikebass started when he got the bass.
Now I am like a little kid on Xmas eve!
Hi
When I first contacted Jimmy about building me a bass he was out of delbergia. He was pushing me to try the hundurian ( which is now unavailable I believe) It was a upcharge but not nearly as much as what the delbergia is getting.
If you didn't buy that bass I'd be playing it today, meaning I had a appointment to check it out.Just because it's in Boston and I've heard its a nice bass.Plus it would be a excuse to meet more people (Young).

I've just never been fan of these solid non-metallic colors at all. I love the candies and LPB, harvest gold, etc., and also the naturals and bursts where the wood shows, but colors like this one, fiesta red, etc., have just never done it for me at all. FWIW anyhoo.Check out this cool surf green LG5 available at the lowend:

Hey Guys.
I just picked up an RA-5, not sure how long i'll have it
but it is very nice.
I can't get a clean signal when I roll off the neck or
bridge pickup. Anyone else experience this??
