Sorry for the number of Photos.. I could of gone even further..

There's nothing to be sorry about in regards to photos!!! We all love to see Jimmy's work so if you have any more, feel free!

Now what you should be sorry about is showing that incredible bass off to all of us that can't have it!!! :D

Seriously, amazing bass. Jimmy has outdone himself yet again. It just keeps getting better and better.

My New Year's resolution... I will definitely NOT be buying any more Alleva Coppolo basses in 2009.

:smug:

:hmm:

:eyebrow:

:eek:

:rollno:

Here's hoping all your New Year's resolutions go better than mine. :help:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I am am out GAS cash. I have 2 awesome Coppolo's,
a Nordy VJ5, a 2008 Fender P and and old Danelectro DC
that I use when I give my "grandkids" bass lessons.
If I make it through 2009 without buying a bass...
it will be over 15 years that I went 12 months without
buying a bass.:eek::help:
Happy New Year!:hyper:

Peace,

Thanks for the kind words about the bass guys.. There is only one word for it and its ridiculous!! My mate, who I mention later will be placing an order when he gets back to the states for an A-C because he loves mine that much hahah

Gig report - I honestly feel like selling my stable of basses, getting a KBP-5 and just be done with it. End of Story!! Ive found my bass and I know its still a settling in period but I know this one is just going to be one of those basses thats just a keeper and a player at the same time.

Just sits right in the middle of the band perfectly and considering that its a 6 to 10 piece Brazilian/Funk band, its not doing too badly! I had the opportunity to have a mate play at 2 of the gigs, he's a phenomenal player in his own right and just walk out the front to have a listen to whats going on. Just so settled if thats the right term to use.. at one of the gigs, walking upstairs into a different section where they had the band cranking through a set of PA speakers for that room, it was literally like listening to a studio bass track in a live band setting.
Even the gig tonight, I walked out and had a listen and had a chat with our sound guy while my mate was playing and he showed me my channel... Flat and it was just pure bass tone. Everything was crisp and every note could be made out, plus it just sounds phat in the mix.
The only complaint from my soundie was that it just needed a bit of top end sparkle for slap but that was nit picking. He came across the foldback after we finished playing one of my favourite tunes where I went a bit happy and I just hear this 'that is one f****** phenomenal sounding bass'
I had a few guys in the band and good friends of the band ask what it was and if they could have a play.. after they did, they wanted it.. They couldnt get over the lightness of it (Its a 9pound baby which is probably the lightest I like a bass to be) and just how effortless it is to play, not too mention the tone again. One of the comments from another bass player was that his Fender felt like an playing an upright compared to the A-C.

As you can tell from the gushing, Im a very happy owner right about now and its going to be hard not to place an order for another one hahah

+1...very deatailed and great to hear...congrats!

BTW...what strings are you running it with?

In an effort to make sure I continue to suck, I am wasting away the little valuable free time I have trying to go back to nickels on my LG5.

Upon further review my USA JO strung with nickels seems to project a punch played fingerstyle almost like the pulse from an upright, nice and low and meaty (not really like my upright but you get it). While the LG with steels has that projection at a higher frequency, even with the nickels back on the LGs projection or burp is a little less percussive I am hoping to let these settle for a good time to see what happens as the gig schedule slows for a few weeks.

The LG certainly kills with steels for that slap tone but we'll see how it goes. Ok now I really need to do some practicing before my wife gets home....

Happy New Year all!
