I don't know about anyone else but I just thought that everyone felt the differences in different boards. They all feel different to me. Most maples feel about the same to me but darker boards all feel somewhat different from each other especially when you AB them together...In some cases it is subtle and very negligible and in others it seems very drastic to me. Again this is just me and I never really thought about whether anyone else feels it or not so I don't really know how prevalent it is....

Hi everybody, It's been a loooooonnnngggg day, first a full day at NAMM and then a long evening at the shop to finish the NF5... I just got back home a few minutes ago. I wanted to let the few of you cats that are going to the show tomorrow that the NF5 will be there. Also if any one see's or speaks to Mitch before I see him tomorrow (George) please let him know I will have his RA5 tomorrow too.

That Olympic White KBP5 is killing me! How am I supposed to choose between that or a 3TB KBP5? 
I just noticed that. That's a nice spec for a more modern 'funk' P Bass. Nice that he used the standard bridge on that, and the 'old school' bridge on the alder/RW P's.
I'm not sure how much big news there can be when you are making 'vintage' oriented instruments
Not a whole lot new under the sun there! I guess one of those very early 50's style P bass models might be cool eventually.Nice looking basses!
I really like that 3TB RA-5. The aged poly on the headstock is great. The fretboard looks a little light. It may be just the lighting though. Either way, that RA-5 and the Olympic White KBP5 are my faves from the booth so far!

That's cool too! Looks like there's a finish on the fretboard as well. Diggin' Jimmy's "new" stuff!
Looks like he did a circa seventies clear coat on the board,...I LOVE THAT!..My soon to be LM5 will also have the gloss clear coat on the board along with blocks and binding....

Ok... so far the new stuff (at least that I've seen) seems to be:
* NF5 - no pics yet
* Maple boards on KBPs (ash bodies too?)
* Coated boards
* Sparkle finishes
They all look good to me. Can anyone confirm that any of the above are the extra-special NAMM outings?
Also... is that birdseye maple on the LBP J above?
