I have the Indian Rosewood Board on my KBP-5, it has Maple dots inlaid as Fret Markers. What a nice Tone it gives - and depending on string selection, it gets aggressive w/ DR High Beams, Much more subtle with the AC Strings - and have yet to try the TI Flats - but assume they would move the tone down quite a bit. Will try the TI's next time I am bored.
Anyway - the Indian Rosewood has a nice color and in my experience, with my playing, beats Ebony, Maple, Pau Ferro and any other board I have played on.
Good Luck with the Build!
The inlays are actually synthetic material. This is a common misconception. If you look close you'll notice that the inlays are not wood. Sorry
Thank you for you continued Support and playing my basses.
