Carey Nordstrand has a quick release, Vintage style bridge with the threaded saddles on his Nordy basses. The quick release/vintage style bridges can be had. That said, I really like Hipshot B style bridges too. I can see the posters point however to use a bridge with a more vintage vibe.

Jimmy and I have been working on a bridge just as you described..
the first prototype left some to be desired.. second proto is in the works and may come out on the KBP5 at NAMM.. i think he said you could order it on any of the basses once its etched in stone,,,

Perfect! Well aside from the tort..
The one thing I find odd about Jimmy's basses is the Hipshot bridge. He should really look at getting a 5 string vintage style bridge (with the threaded saddles) manufactured since that's the vibe he's going for. The B-style bridge just looks out of place to me

it would be a quik release as the others... we have been trying different metal combinations right now...
Cool! I always thought the hipshot bridge that Jimmy uses was a little bit of a disconnect with the vintage vibe of his instruments. Chris Celinder has a very nicely designed quick release bridge that is very 'J and P' appropriate. You might want to take a peak at that one also for some idea's.
Oh, it's a sad day in Andrewville looks like My LG's body and neck didn't make it in the 18 bass shipment......metallic undercoat but no blue coat...yet. Looks like I just got bumped 5 weeks.

i just spoke with jimmy today.. there are a few new models from what he told me and they will be at bass player live this coming weekend... i have to try to get some pics..
Can't wait for pics! Please give the RA5's a spin around the block. I'd love to hear impressions!
