Beautiful!! My build is starting in several months and that does not help my excitement.

Any chance of a sound clip or quick overview on the tone you get out of her?
I am very much into the minimalist thing and have been going back and forth on the final design. But I am really leaning towards single pickup (definitely passive) and placed roughly the same.
Not MM and not too close to the neck.

All I can say is WOW!!! Congratulations!

I had to show these two photos to my wife, and she commented on how beautiful these instruments are. The second one (#3), she described as "a work of art"...I could not agree more.

By the way, I am dying to hear audio clips of that parallel chamber fretless 4! (Or clips of both would be even better!!! )

There are surprising few clips of Bordwell basses on the internet. I'm not sure why. Probably Davo's is the best one here:

It sounds like a hard, modern sound but that could be due to anything - pickups, playing style, EQ, amp, wood or even the media it's recorded on.

Sure you can mate.
You can have the pots mounted internally and adjust them through holes the rear cover using a screw driver.
The switches, I guess you could have slider switches mounted on the rear too...

Hmmmm, you have a point. Making changes on the fly would seem to be a little out of the question. Ugg, sometimes I wish I were a little simpler so I wasn't cluttering up the tops like that.

I like to have plenty of control, but I tend to not fiddle with much on the fly, if you like to fiddle as you go though, you're going to have to carry on "cluttering up tops"
