So, you're still going with the normal CB shape near the strap button? I would have thought rounding it would have been a little more on the traditional side.
I thought about rounding it but I friggin love the normal CB strap side body shape
Gotcha.
For my next two, I'm thinking about rounding the edge for a two tone amboyna burl and utilizing that extension a bit for my fanned bass.
Does anyone here own a Bordwell with a Maple body core?
I think Scott M had a singlecut with a flame maple center block... don't know if he still has it
Does anyone have a 32" fretless 5-er, and if so, where do you find flats (if you use them)? Which flats do you use? I emailed Jim at juststrings, but they've got zilch. Tks.
Yikes, strings like that sound about as rare as hen's teeth. I'd say to contact Mangan, but I don't think they'd be too keen on such a string without ordering a lot.
In a case like that, I'd almost suggest moving the string anchor point on the back of the bass to take about 2" off the string before it gets to the bridge.
If he runs the strings through the body he may be able to use regular strings.
Depends on how Cliff sets up the headstock. I'm not sure the body string through would be enough on all flatwound strings. Some? Sure.
