+1I believe the Nordstrand pre can be wired with switches instead.
Or at least check with Carey FIRST before assuming anything. I was told by Carey there are a LOT of different ways to wire it up.
Don't get me wrong, if the Auderes are a known quantity for you and you know you like them, then it's not really an issue, you'll be just as happy with it as you have been previously.
That said, I still say, if a Nordy preamp could be wired as you wish, I would recommend it over the Audere... especially for a Nordstrand pickup equipped instrument.
Just check with Carey... tell him what you like (and dislike if need be) about the Audere, and what kind of controls/sound you're looking for. He won't recommend his preamp if he doesn't truly feel it's the best choice. Heck, he even used Audere preamps in his basses before he had his, and I even think still offers it (that's actually where I played my first Audere).
