Ahhh… the joys of having your specs locked in, getting the "it's starting" notification, then frantically checking Instagram for update pics every free moment. Beautiful agony.
Just ask him for pics to share on TB during the build. He'll happily oblige.
Cliff had no power because of the hurricane. He's back up and running!

Some beautiful boards this morning.
Quite interesting seeing the color spectrum all together. Mine (pau ferro on the right) is rather light, but I still really dig it. Glad I went black hardware as between that and the flame mango the overall aesthetic will be quite light.
This bass was an inspiration for my wood choices, and I think it's coming together nicely.

The fingerboard on my ACG Finn Classic 6er looked similar in hue to your board, but once oiled up and played in, it darkens up a little, I reckon it'll look LOVELY with a bit of Mango! >>Quite interesting seeing the color spectrum all together. Oh nice, yeah that board looks great. Beautiful bass! An ACG was definitely on my shortlist, but ultimately Cliff's SCB shape won me over.

Yup, Alan makes incredible basses, as does Cliff.
Well, I just got off the phone with Cliff and I think I've made changes enough to my build coming next spring to look and sound different than what I had originally planned.
It seems like every bass I've order from him starts one way, then ends up completely different.
Woods, Wenge top, Paduak thick layer strip underneath, and Alder body.
I'm going to do some cool Paduak Mustang inspired racing strips as well.
5 string now, strung E-C 32" scale BIG McNeely to help with my old hands.
Similar electronics to one of my older basses with the Candy bar Barts and 2 band Aguilar preamp.
Wenge ramp.
Hopefully I can keep this as the plan!
Also, I got the new TH preamp pedal and I have been loving the way my CB basses sound through it!
Especially the one that I own with the Aguilar preamp.
