Club Bordwell Part 4

It's sort of what's become my default tone with this bass. Pickups blended slightly towards the bridge dual coil. Bass slightly boosted. High mid slightly boosted. Trebile slightly boosted. And passive tone slightly rolled off. D'addario exl nickels. Recorded direct with a bit of reverb added in the box.

Thanks. Are the coils in your bridge pickup in parallel?

Also, is the lower bout on your signature bass influenced by a StingRay bass shape? I'm wondering how your signature shape compares with Cliff's singlecut body style when playing in a seated position...particularly without a strap.

I usually leave the bridge pickup in series.
The lower bout was influenced by an old body shape Cliff used to offer call performance series. I prefer the lower horn on this shape to my singlecut because I feel like it is a little more comfortable on the leg without the bass strapped on.

I would have guessed the bridge was in parallel...it's very articulate!

Thanks to you both.

Yes on the 33" scale, I'm making a 6-string 33" scale bass in this current build.

Yes to that shape too... any shape you see on the website is doable.
A complete custom shape is an option too, or you can modify an existing shape.

There will be a new double cut shape coming out soon, kind of a sibling to the "Dola" singlecut shape.

Hi TB,

Been a while since I've posted in Basses, but have some newsworthy news -- I'm in the current CB build and my bass is well underway. Cliff was nice enough to forward a preliminary pic of the back, so here's a teaser!

Thanks guys! I actually measured it myself last night and saw that it won't fit the Mono or the new Gigblade from Gruvgear. I actually already have a Levy's and a Protec gigbag. They both came with the the two Ball basses I've owned. The Levy's came with my old Bubinga/Darkstar bass and I held on to it when I let that bass go and the Protec came with the bass I just bought from echoSe7en. :D

I was just hoping to find something new with a little more protection. I really liked how the Mono bag has neck support. Are there any hard cases that fit the Ball bass?

Michael
I confirmed today that the Mono Vertigo fits the "Ball Bass" shape comfortably, along with all the other shapes offered.
