Yup. Still pains me that I should probably sell my spalted maple Rob Allen since I probably don't need a 5 string and 6 string that basically covers the same ground.

I have a headless 6, being built elsewhere, which should be finished soon, it'll be a 31.5"er though, it'll be super compact and will fit in a guitar bag!
I'd guess that yours might fit in a smaller bag too though, Cliff's basses are very compact.
Looking forward to watching this bass come to life!

This will be 34" scale and strung up with TI Jazz Flats. Should still fit in guitar gig bags, although the body is apparently too wide for the Mono Vertigo.
I hope to eventually get a fretted headless 6 with Aero DCs and a Pope pre by Stambaugh so I can throw them both in a nice little double gig bag and go.

I hear ya! This is the one that finally pushed me over the edge:
Spalted myrtle. Looking back, I realized that this is the 4th bass I've commissioned with a myrtle top...
Gotcha. I remember a myrtle bass or two of yours.
I was in Oregon this summer and picked up a clock/thermometer/hygrometer in a nice little block of burled myrtle.
While on the road I stopped by a Guitar Center to try a few instruments out so I could be sure about my specs for my upcoming CB Build. I know that GC is pretty limited to what they typically have in stock, but I wanted to try different length scales (I currently play a 35" Lakland) and fretboards. As I walk into the store, I noticed something pretty familiar on the wall... It's a 5 String CB Single Cut that has been featured on the CB website for some time. Now I am considering trading my '78 Rickenbacker 4001 in for the CB while I wait 9 months to have my custom build finished. Decisions decisions....
