i have gigged with drummers on my 1x15 80W combo lots of times.

It's not a problem. You just have to serve them some beer first.

Anyway, if you want a practice amp, I've got a lot of fun with my Roland Cube RX with 4x what... 2" in it? 2.5W power, battery operated. It sounds like a toy, but it actually sounds like a decent amp. OK, you won't kill a drummer with it unless you smash him over the head with it, but.... that's why i've got my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 2x10+1x12 *lol*

EDIT.... And the Shuttle 6.0 was not to smash the drummer over the head with, though...

Y'all are vicious and mean. Me and my drummers (yes, plural) get along just fine. Play nice to each other dynamically. Half of the music is listening while you play - to others.
And I'll chime in my .02 cents - I use a Fender Bassman 60 watt 1x15 for practice and stage monitor for small gigs with the PA.

Speaking of recording, I have been purchasing recording gear for my MAC. I have been using the Euphonix MC Transport and just ordered an MC Mix. They are really nice tools and integrate seamlessly with a MAC and Logic. For input/output DAC I can highly recommend the Apogee Duet and One models.

Sorry to hear about the Trace Joe, but I think you have some good recommendations on replacements in the club. Shame, as I just gave #177 a full rehearsal blast through the Trace Rig. Un-Bel-eeeve-able!!! The earth moved for me!!

Have you come across propellerhead's Record for capturing audio? I think its awesome, free fully (proper FULL) functional download too. The only thing you can't do on the demo is open files!!

I'd love a drummer if I could only find one. Would pamper him (or her even more) and carry his drums for him (or even her beauty bag if it was a she) to and from the stage... if I could only find one! *hehe*

But I think I'd struggle with my Roland Cube RX even if she was drumming her beauty bag. ;) But it is an amazing little amp for the price and size *lol* Just right for my living room. The Genz can accomodate anything. Beauty boxes and the full blown drummer setup. ;)

ok, I'm in goofball mood. Pay no attention to me. ;)

Thank you so much for the reply. Yes, you are correct, I am particularly interested in the Q-Tuner (soloed) and how it interacts on a hollow Clement such as yours. :) Thank you for your efforts. They are much appreciated.

By the way...you play bass guitar very well!

Hello all,

Just finished up working out a bass with Tom to be put into existence in the near future. I sold my fretless (Carvin Anniversary) a couple years back for a fretted (Warwick Vette) back up...well, maybe this was fate: I'm totally psyched, especially after reading everything posted here, fretted back up is gone and a sweet TC bass is in the crystal ball.

A few comments:

The Q-tuner pups are awesome. I have a set of BS's in my Warwick Thumb and I couldn't be more pleased. Not sure about the sound of a chambered with them, but on my Thumb I get absolute clarity, clean like chlorox tone, excellent overtones, and still have that Warwick punch when I want it. The pups are very hot though not pushed by active electronics. I did have to fine tune my head a bit more than usual to get the right blend of tone and attack.

I second the Roland Cube rec. for a practice amp. Been planning on getting one - played through it a few times, but have not purchased. The batterry option is nice (I do a lot of camping, good for campfire jamming) and it sure does make a much bigger sound than it would seem by appearance. I also use the Bass Ace a lot with a good set of cans. It won't have your wife/husband/roommate banging on your door to quiet down and you can plug an ipod into it to work on tunes.

Congrats on getting your Clement fretless plans rolling along. Would you be willing to share the specs with us?

I am fairly certain that I have seen a picture of a Clement with a single BS Q-Tuner in the neck position, but I have not heard it. :crying: Did you install a High Z and Medium Z pair, or did you do something else on the Warwick? I am assuming that the Qs dropped right into your Thumb without any routing. How do you have them wired now?
