Why that would be an Link Removed with 18V EMG BTS preamp. The 35TW gives you the ability to switch between single-coil and dual-coil mode (hence the mini-toggle), and the BTS preamp is boost/cut for bass and treble. I really like those electronics in this bass.
That Katalox is such a pretty looking wood. However, I am not familiar with its tonal properties or durability...very dense though. Thanks for the link.
I will check out your early work with Cherry wood. I wonder why more requests are not made for a Cherry body? The stuff of fine furniture and musical instruments for years.

I have that on my Ken Lawrence Brase 5 - NICE fret/fingerboard. I used it as a fretless for a while before I had it refretted and abalam blocks added. It worked well as a fretless board and as a fret board. A little mid-rangy but not too much top end. Warm lows but part of that could be Ken's build.

I have read that Ken uses Katalox quite a bit for fretboards/fingerboards. Thanks for your input! It seems difficult to find much information about Katalox's tonal properties as an instrument wood. I have seen it compared to Ebony here and there. Have you ever had any problems with the Katalox cracking? How do you care for it?

Happy to help! I have two of those pickups and the 3-band version of that EQ in one of my Skjolds (Pete's very first Exotic Custom), and those electronics work very well in that form, as well.
