Moe, enjoy your (new to you) bass, it's unique & organic looking. How's the weight overall? Is there any neck dive? Is the wood section surrounding the pickup purely decorative? I wondered if there may have previously been a larger pickup installed, along the lines of a mudbucker, etc.

I wasn't planning on it....lol! The bass weighs just about 9lbs. No appreciable neck dive. Very nice work for a 4th project & looking at your site I can see some of the same traits in your later work. I watched Ed's video review & dug the sound of the single cut 5'er.

Just put on some LaBella Tapewounds on #173 last night. A nice difference and she really suits black strings! I'll get some pictures and sound clips soon!

Got the Clement basses all together this weekend.

All feature the hipshot piezo bridge through Aguilar preamps.

"narrow 5" 34" mahogany and bubinga
Big six 35" with show-grade walnut top and back (over swamp core)
Hollow Jon 34" 5 flamed maple over swamp core

Tom's basses are beautifully matched for piezo. The "p" gives a lot of dynamics and responsiveness.
