Here's a sneak peak at #186 (which will be a 4-string fretless):

Nofretz,What do you mean #184 is Double chambered?
That Katalox is such a pretty looking wood. However, I am not familiar with its tonal properties or durability...very dense though. Thanks for the link.
I will check out your early work with Cherry wood. I wonder why more requests are not made for a Cherry body? The stuff of fine furniture and musical instruments for years.
Katalox is a fabulous fingerboard wood. It is similar to ebony without the "ping" on top, so it's perceived as being a bit warmer.
I love cherry as a body wood, but it doesn't get any attention really. One is that it just isn't used by many builders. I can understand this as there are tried and true woods that are proven to give a great variety of tones to be used. It can also be a bit on the heavy side and people seem to be looking for lighter and lighter instruments these days. My custom six string is cherry and I love it. It's punchy in the low mids and very articulate/very responsive. The notes really pop when you want them to. My bass has an ebony board and it's a little bright. I heard a bass like mine but with a kingwood board and that was the perfect balance. Anyhow, I'm a big fan of cherry bodies.
Beautiful basses in here everyone!
Thanks for the info on the Katalox. I'm very intrigued with this wood.
Hmmm...Cherry body with a Sugar Maple top, 3 piece Sugar Maple neck, and a Katalox fretboard...that might be interesting?
That is a VERY nice fingerboard/body combination!

Very nice. Thanks
Tom,
Do you have the specs of ALL the basses you've created starting with #1? If so it could make a great archive page on your site.
They track Strads don't they?
