...and keep in mind that it will darken when it's finished, as well as bring out the figuring in the wood. It's going to be a great looking bass for sure!
I had a good b-day weekend and had fun with her, nice sound. She is stripped down and I am doing some touch up work on her then sanding and starting the finish process..t

I darkened it a touch on photoshop and upped the contrast to try and simulate a poly finish. Will be interesting to see if I'm anywhere close on my guesstimations!

I think the Kim body looks great and it will be my 2nd Clement. It will be a 6 string. It was that 7 string that made my mind up. I am trying to work out the wood combinations, and I like the idea of using Bubinga and or Katalox

I'd shoot for the Katalox. I almost went for it on 213 but have always wanted a blood wood fingerboard.
I researched katalox and it seems like a great wood for fingerboards.

Tom has requested photos in my seated playing position, because he is concerned with neck dive if I make the wrong wood choice. I can always attach a lead weight to the rear strap point

The Katalox/ bubinga combo would likely sound pretty good too.
Neck dive to me is almost inherent to Fender based designs. Fortunately a good strap or lead weight
can help out. I've gotten into the habit of wearing a strap whether I'm sitting or standing. Just makes things more consistent for me.

Tom was concerned about Neckdive on177, wide 5, maple neck on a wide Joan (small body)
I have to say - his fears were unfounded!! But I did give him a pic as well - he tweaked the upper bout strap lock position, and its all cool
