Thanks for all the comments guys . I figured my basses were overdo for a photoshoot, lol. I'm definitely happy with how they turned out.

. As far as recording gear I recently picked up a Canon 7D (which is what shot those photos) and it can do video (remote controlled from my computer, no less!) so that's my new video camera too, lol. I record the audio straight into my computer through and Echo Audiofire4 using either Logic or Garageband.

Thanks for the recording info guys. I am looking into an audiofire or something like it. I have not set my heart on anything yet. I have a good Video recorder, just need to get the audio figured out.

Just beginning to dip my toe into #5. A fretless 5 string piezo Lise with...........woods and other.......things. I think. 
Gig went well last night - apart from the guitarist's PRS decided to throw a machine head.
Some real nice feedback (from the punters, not the screechy kind!) on the Basses, and the usual - "what sort of bass is that?!?" questions.
Unfortunately the pics aren't too great, a bit dark and fuzzy.

Thank your photographer! Unfortunately, our band "photographer" (wife of guitarist) uses flash and it is very blinding in a dark bar, sometimes to point of distraction. Besides, a bit of movement shows action!

Yes shooting photos of bands sucks. The lighting is bad and if you use flash it just looks washed out.
yep you're wright and it's disturbing too, not only for the artists but also for the audience
With the right camera and proper setup, getting clean shots without flash isn't too difficult. I my concert stuff I do without flash but I'd it if I had a one or two off camera flashes. I plan on getting one sometimes soon, should be fun.
