Happy to hear you're lovin' #244, JBY.

Took #231 to the TB International/NYC GTG and everyone dug it... no one as much as me, of course ;). The thing just sings, almost regardless of the rig its played through. I did happen to play it through this Yamaha D bass 210 that sounded absolutely incredible though. Easily my favorite amp there. The tone through that one was just perfect.

I've been listening to a-lot of playing by a guy named Jeroen Paul Thesseling who plays a Warwick Fretless 7 string of just that sort... Clement #248 will be a 5 string fretless and a great intro to fretless for me, but as a player of 4 and 6 string fretted basses now, I can eventually see getting a bad case of GAS for a 7 string fretless... That will be several years and quite a few $$$ away.

The Musical style isn't everyone's cup of tea (technical Death Metal), but the guy is a phenomenal bassist, he apparently cut his fretless teeth playing Flamenco music. I haven't heard any of what he did there yet. Any new Clement news or pics anyone?? I'm chomping at the bit for all I can see on other Clement Basses until I have my own :bassist:

I've been thinking on getting a 7string , but I still don't really know how would it fit in a band... and about the pics...Tom told me he was taking this week off, so I don't have anything to show off

As hard as he must have to work, to do such beautiful work at the pace he keeps, I imagine a vacation is all the more important and rewarding. Thanks for the update. ( I imagine it would take a special band situation for the 7 string, but I'll bet it would be fun to just sit and play at home too... That F# would definitely add new meaning to "BASS")

Well about F# I dunno, Low B has been the lowest I've ever had, but I think a higher string would be far more interesting, and I've seen Ives Carbone (I think, I don't actually remember his name) a French guy who plays a fretless 7 string Jerzy Drozd, he's a solo player and he uses 90% chords , but still.... I hate GAS , I have a bass on the works and I'm working on another on my head!
