Hi all, I just put a deposit down on my first Clement build and got my number from Tom today!
Bass #330, nice round number :).
Shall I post specs or leave the suspense until the build is complete?

So you own that SC fretless chambered Bordwell. Have always had BIG eyes and ears for that one.
Welcome to the Clement family. Your stable of basses are worthy to be classed with your #330 and its marvelous specs. Thanks for the post, keep us informed...

Thanks Godsbassman. I fell into that Bordwell by pure luck. I was actually in the process of getting a quote from Bordwell for a fretless 6'er when it came up for sale. I bought it used from a guy in Austin at a steal. Yes, its an incredible instrument! Not only in the great craftsmanship and beauty of the woods, but the tone is fantastic. Chris Bordwell's chamber design has a lot to do with it. Wonderful neck too. My only issue with it was not having fret lines on it...solved that by having them added by another really great luthier out of Austin named Brady Muckelroy. He did an excellent job on adding the lines.

I guess I'm just to much of a visual guy, and need the lines. I have a really great 5 string fretless Lecompte bass that I just can't get along with because of that reason. It was my first fretless, and I custom ordered it without the lines. My vision overreached my skill :smug:. Problem is that its got an epoxied fingerboad and adding lines now would be technically, and cost, prohibitive, pretty much requiring replacement of the entire board, refinishing the neck etc. So rather than take a chance at ruining it, I put it up for sale on TB. I'm making an attempt at moving it on to "make room" in the stable for a Clement (though honestly if it doesn't sell I won't be too heartbroken, it really is a fantastic instrument in all other aspects)...and truthfully I've just been GASing for a Clement for quite a while. Love the designs, and its pretty obvious from all the reviews, sound clips, and videos I've seen, that they are top notch basses.

This bass feels really natural in my hands. String spacing to the neck shape. Played a Eden rig for a while today. Playing on my Roland micro cube now. And will play it through my Genz Benz Strea,liner 900 tomorrow .. Did I mention the finish? Ahhh... :)

hmmm... I seem to have lost it completely!
A new version of the club thread, and I didn't even catch it!!!
I will try to get a club number update one of these days. In the meantime, have fun with your Clement babies!
I so want to have Tom build me a PJ 4 or 5-string Kim.... but I just can't afford it right now.

But that's the only thing I (sort of) lack....
Well.... come to think of it... Pamela.... If we want a light stringed vehicle... wouldn't a Pamela Clement be just the tool to add?! :)

Just a up date on #325. First she not going by her number any longer! While checking out the grain a little closer I saw a woman's face prominently in the grain. And everyone else I showed it to saw the same thing. So I know I am not seeing things. So I call her Felicia after the body style. But she weighs 7 1/2 lbs. and the more I play her the happier am I. We have our first gig this weekend in Williamsburg Va. I will post more after that.
