Club Dark Star

Is that a VERY big controlknob or a sticker or something?

This is my plan:

Its a very big volume knob. You didnt know that the bigger your knob the more volume you get?!?! :p

I use it for swells etc, so its easier with a bigger control there- it also makes it easy after a few beers...

I like your idea! That would be effing loud! :bassist:

I have Dark Stars on my Landing and they're awsome.....give Fred a chance, he's a one man company.....and those pups are great.....what's a couple of months in the scheme of things.....the difference between a home cooked meal and a McDonalds hamburger....which would you prefer?

A question to all of you who have been lucky enough to receive your pickup(s) -- how long did it take?

I am now 3.5 weeks out, and have no word on when it is going to ship or what the holdup might be.

Thanks,
Jason

For myself, I wish it were only 3.5 weeks...I've been patiently waiting since June, 2010...After his lengthy M.I.A. scenario, Fred finally assured me via email, that my completed Pickup & mounting ring would be shipped by July 21, 2011. Nothing! I've sent a couple of emails & tried calling, but the same old Fred>>>NO REPLY. Today I tried to call and his business # is no longer active. Why doesn't he provide a tracking # like most people?

Fred's not alone in this. Over at Gearslutz, there's a long thread about giveslutz, where people give things away. One guy mentioned that he wanted to try out some mics, so myself and a few others sent him some mics. I sent him a Groove Tubes GT66. It's a tube large diaphragm condenser. Not the greatest in the world, but probably a $600 mic. He's been telling me since March that it's on its way back. Whatever. If he's not going to send it back, I wish he'd just say so and I can call the police.

Yeah, Jimmy at Landing has been trying to reach him too. He talked to Fred a few times and was told that he was back in business, so I placed an order -- now not even Jimmy can get him on the phone.

I feel bad for him and other builders who have quite a few basses sitting there waiting only on the pickup they have already been routed for.

Jimmy's a great guy! He offered to mention my name to Fred, when I talked about my yet delivered order...

Nice playing from what I could here of you. I couldn't tell too much from this clip what was going on with the tone even with a headset.
You'll have to get the sound man to bump you up a tad in the mix next time. These old ears aren't what they used to be. ;)
