Lookin' Good. It's just reminded me I still need a Dark Star for one of my projects I've been wary of sending any cash 'til the supply problem was sorted. Does anybody know if the goods still getting out to the buyers or are Dark Stars still the hardest pickups to buy on Earth? (after Lane Poor of course...)

Too bad. I'm glad Evhest (of the beautiful JagBird above) and I were fast and lucky enough to order some fresh Darkstars. Of that very few he made, 2 of them went to us. 
does anyone know where to find replacement screws for the dark star? ive stripped a couple. does anyone know the size?
Anyone know what was used to hold the darkstar to the pickup ring? Mine fell out and it looks just like wax.
For all you folks who crave DarkStars and lament the disappearance of Fred - don't worry, a fantastic pickup wizard is soon to resurrect the production of bisonic pickups here in its land of birth Sweden. 
I do not want to reveal too much at this stage but I can tell you that these pickups will have the same look as the original Hagstrom bisonic (as used on Guild Starfire, etc). The Darkstars actually have a reversed design were the poles are on the opposite side compared with the Hagstrom bisonic.
The bisonic and the Darkstar differ quite a bit soundwise. Bisonics have ceramic magnets and Darkstar have Alnico V. They also differ when it comes to gauge and kOhm. It will be possible to custom order these new bisonic pickups, at least to some extend, to have them sound more like Darkstars or have a more vintage sound like that of the originals.
There are also plans for 5-strings and 6-strings versions.

Same as many of you, I guess - meaning nothing, apart from wanting very much to buy a couple of pickups later on.
I am not the one working on these pickups and I am not involved commercially in this project in any way. The guy who is making them is renowned among Swedish bass players for making great custom made pickups. For this project he got some help from some people in the village of Älvdalen where Hagstrom was located. At least that's what I heard.
Yeah, I am really looking forward to this. I have been mailing Fred many times with no reply. I had a Dearmond Guild Starfire with Darkstars, which was stupid enough to sell

Hagström actually had a different chrome frame for the bridge pickup, which was higher than that for the neck pickup. The Darkstar is probably based on the Hagström neck pickup, at least the chrome frames are the same height.
