Club Decade!

Are there any pics of the Chisonics dissasembled?

I'm wondering if the covers can be separated from the pickups and smaller frames used.

I don't, but they cannot be separated. If you look at the back, they are all sealed in with resin. Hanson is going to start making what is essentially a ChiSonic pickup in standard sized, and looking housings. No Jazz one though. Magnets are too big.

Thought hard about posting this, but since folks post their Warmoth and SX basses on Jazz threads, I'm going to post my wana-be-decade on the Decade thread.

I played a few decades at the Lakland plant and fell in love, but being a p-bass guy, I didn't like the thinner necks. I tried a DS'd t-40,but I really wanted a mahogany body. Tomm of "Redemption Bass" made me a body with enough modifications (lower horn and SG style contours) that it's obviously not a Decade. I finished the body and mounted it to the refinished neck from the t-40 which has one of my favorite profiles and widths.

It's become one of my main players.

I've played a couple of USA and Skyline Decade's since then, and my bass isn't in the same league of fine detail, but it has the sound, and I love to play it. Dan Lakin saw it and said it reminded him of the early Decade prototypes.

Yeah... I like it too! Way to go!

My 1st "real" bass (had a Sears bass 1st LOL) was a Peavey Foundation w/ jazz style neck... not a bass I'd want again, but I hear the T-40s are something special! I later came back to Peavey after the Cirrus basses hooked me :)... now I'm fully addicted to Lakland!

Cool bass man!
Thanks!

Completely understandable. Lakland is the bee's knees. I love tone of my decade-wanna-bee, but it still can't match the playability and rediculously low action of my 55-01.

The plan was to pack it with Chi-Sonics as soon as my wife got her job, but now that we're looking for a house...

Hanson makes a Chisonic drop in that uses a standard black case to fit the 44-01, and the 55-01 is coming very soon!
That's really good news! When I last checked, Lakland said they would have to do some routing to enlarge the routes for the Chi-sonics.

I assume the new pups are plain black plastic? I'd have preferred the chrome, but I'll settle for black if it means not having to modify the body.

Are they going to be available in single coil, double, or both?

Very nice body. Definitely see the SG influence, married to a Wal.

That's almost exactly what Tomm (redemptionbass) and I talked about when we were designing the body! He had an SG style body on his website, and I asked him to build a similar body, more like a decade, with some lines like a wal.
