Waiting for a build!!! oh ya ..i feel your pain..LOL...but it will all be worth it!!...im thinking 4-5months and AC6 should be in my hands!

Check out Tom's profile.. you'll see his amazing collection of basses, amps etc.... He's used to waiting for his F Basses.. hahaha..That's so so mean... I know the pain also, waiting is hard to go through!!! But in the end, the wait is all worth the pain when you get your hands on your new bass.... Take care guys!!! :bassist:

hi FBass brothers! here's a new clip that really highlights the BN4 shorty (EQ flat). i was running through an Aguilar TH500 (EQ flat) + Aguilar Filter Twin. i honestly dunno how they recorded this or if they tweeked the EQ at all :(

Cool! Thanks guys for the appreciation :)

@Firebass - i was using an aguilar filter twin for the envelope soind.

Speaking of envelope filters, has anyone here owned a 3leaf groove regulator. I've always been curious about that pedal. Any 1st hand experience would be awesome :)

Pare, I had the first version... I didn't like it that much. I'm not sure about the newer/updated ones but I am completely happy with the Filter Twin.

Ang galing n'yo talaga, bilib na bilib ako. Idol ko kayong lahat.

I shall have to try one of those out when I get the chance.

I use an Electro Harmonix Q-Tron at the moment, but I find it really hard to control live.

I've never tried the 3leaf, but I have been curious about the Source Audio Soundblox - has anyone used one of these on gigs?

Actually, the Pro has a LOT of knobs on it, so maybe this is easier to use...

All I want is an outrageous Bootsy sound :)

As a Creative Director as well as a musician, I have to say this is a very well shot and edited video!!

So kudos to the director and camera team too!

I have no idea which bass(es) to bring to a job and could use some advice. I've been hired to support a "steel drum band." The musical director specified fretted electric bass, so the fretless ACs are out.

I have not seen the group play, but I know they are quite heady and have PhDs in music.

The set lists vary from Island tunes, to jazz standards, to classic pop remixes, to some originals.

That leaves me at a loss. The instruments being steel drums, I am very unsure what tone(s) to use... rosewood / alder / 60s, maple / ash / 70s, maple / ash / 60s, ebony / rosewood, etc.

And if the tone question is wide open, what look should I use? Organic fretted rosewood AC6? The electric blue AC6? The sunburst finish of my BN6 or VF5?

The original music sheets specify "4-string electric bass." Will they not like me showing up with 6-string basses? I hate to sight read with a 4-string bass, I feel panicy and distracted about my missing strings and play more poorly. Should I use 5-string basses so as to not attract attention to my choice of instruments?

What on earth do you play with steel drums?!
