I do love the sound of this F-masterpiece!

Ya..totally did that BN6...and the exposed pole pieces really bring out a different element...Im still not totally sold on "full wood covers" on my AC6...I think I stil have some time to maybe change...either way..I dont think I can go wrong!!!

I was watching Alain's video where he talks about his signature combo amp (Markbass), and he cracked me up with this comment:

"After that you have the EQ section. Normally... [pauses with a funny expression] -- personally, I NEVER use EQ. You know, I like the sound of my bass. Sounds great in the studio."

This one is gonna be as simple as it gets 34' scale, volume and tone only, alder body and maple neck/fingerboard.

@TapyTap - hehe eventually i'm probably gonna have one made but i'm sticking to the classic 34 for now i figured i won't be doing alot of slapping with the F "P" Bass so i guess the additional tension a 34' scale bass provides would be better.

@Highpost - i'm not 100% sure but i think the F-Bass piccolo has a shorter scale even.

Well K, I can understand the 34" scale for the increased tension without increasing string gauges. With a 32.5" BN4 and a 34" F Bass "P", you will be well-armed.

Guys, everyone needs to check out this video. It really gets interesting (for Fbass players) around 2:00.

Aidan Mullen, a long time tech guy for Aerosmith, goes over bassist Tom Hamilton's gear. He starts by touting TC Electronic, then goes through the basses Hamilton uses on stage one by one -- some built by very well known makers.

Then he ends by picking up Hamilton's Fbass BN4, calling it "the best sounding bass guitar we have...."
