Seems like that would cover a lot of the tone fabric for me-- like 90%, or maybe more. However there are things that need a little different this or that from the tone perspective. I think the types of music you play would be a big factor in that decision. Like country music, to me you need at least flats and maybe fretless-- same for bluegrass. By that notion, you could also need a JJ if you needed to play Geddie or Marcus type things.

I know I am very content to play either my VF or BN and get whatever tone I need. Want... well, thats another matter. :D

Thanks. I'm trying really hard to justify it so I can pull the trigger, I just can't seem to get over the hump. Maybe if I had a wall like yours to hang them on.....

Guys I need your help with the order specifics for my build.
Last Namm show I completely fell in love with THIS bass that Fbass brought over (posted below).
So much so that I placed an identical order - transparent sea foam green, but with the added and complete look with blocks, neck binding and serial.

Would you guys add anything else? Birdseye board? Etc etc.
Really excited for this build. April can’t come soon enough!

Yeah man, that’s so hot. I drooled over that bass just the other day. I too would not change a thing. Although, a Birdseye board would be cool.

If by blocks you mean pearloid blocks, then no, I wouldn't add anything else. If it were me I'd leave the board plain maple.

How about a vintage tint gloss?

I'm actually trying to imagine how good that would look with a mac ebony board with dots and binding...

Very nice. I've never seen the trans sea foam before, it's interesting. A great example of the future meeting the past.
If it were up to me the only thing I would change would be the shipping address ;)

I'm really glad you wrote that. I have a blue BN that looks purple in some situations as well. I really like blue... my middle school colors were blue and white, my high school colors were blue and white, my university school colors were blue and white, and my wife's eyes are (dramatic pause) blue and white!

So I was kinda sad when people would compliment my purple bass.

I really like your attitude: two basses in one. I agree. Besides, when they come talk to me, they usually notice that it is blue in a different light.
