George and the team know how to build a bass!

You are probably right. I have a VERY VAGUE recollection which is probably wrong that the 70s VFs (ash body, maple finger board, single coil pickups in the 70s positions) ship with Fat Beams. I thought other models were still Fbass strings. I have about 10% confidence in my memory that this is so, but thought I should mention it anyway. All of the VF's ship with DR Fat Beams.
We love to see pictures of your FBass! Then @Tom7 will be along shortly to give you a number.i want to be a part of the club!!

What's not to like? Never seen one quite like that! What's the switch do?
Nice pair you got there!
No, the blueburst from that photo above. Was it the cherryburst one on reverb ?
There will be a difference, for sure. It’s up to you to decide which is better for you. I have been really digging a PJ currently. I think a P is just awesome in a mix. I think George is selling a lot of VF PJs these days.Hi. How are you. Am I in doubt of buying a vf pj or jj? Is there a lot of difference in sound? What did you think?
Done. Sorry I missed it the first time.Could add vf5-j 70s to my entry. It's going to stick around![]()
Speaking of PJs, the NBD for my 40th Anniversary PJ is 3 months overdue (got it in early June). At the time, I'd narrowed my search down to the 40th, a BN (4 or possibly a 5), and another boutique "F" brand. The 40th checked all the right boxes (feel/playability/tone/etc.), and I didn't want to procrastinate and miss out on such a rare beast so I jumped at the opportunity. (A BN might be coming home with me soon, as well.) A special thanks to @tombowlus (via p.m.) and George F (email) for some input that helped tip the scales!
