Club Fbass (thread 13)

Does the s212 with a 5 string fbass provide enough volume and low end?

I know theres a tec amp thread but i want Fbass specific answers lol

The s212 has the tightest low end of their 212's but IMO is still plenty full and plump. Unless youre way into dub/subbass or have some other reason to need massive low end, the s212 should be fine. If there's any doubt, go m212.

What kind of amp are you running?...I have a Puma 900 and a M212(8 ohm)...and have an FBASS AC6 and BNFF6...and there is lots of headroom and volume...for some of my outdoor rock gigs...im thinking of adding a M210 to the top...just for that extra kick in the colon!!!!...Im primarily a jazz player and the P900 and M212...=tons of volume !!!

Ya id be interested in puma 900...

If there isnt much difference between the s212 and m212 i think i would go S just for saving weight and space

Ya like i think id like to get a 4ohm s212 just have 900 watts going into that cab. Have some good headroom and lots of power to drive those speakers nicely

I mostly play bars

How would a tonehammer 500 and 2 sl 112 cabs compare?

There is a lot of utility in having two x 112 speaker cabs!!...weight...easy to move...musically directional ....and stack vertical...

sorry I have no experience with the Tone Hammer ....outside of Tec Amps...I have only played larger rigs...Ag DB751 with 8x10.

maybe someone else can chime in!
Good luck on your musical quest!

Randy

Hmmm

Ive always wanted a DB750/1 but never wanted to pay the price

yes...they are great to play...sound great...huge sound...(Very Heavy and bulky to move!!) I have also played with a lot of Ampeg back lines too!!!...SVT with 8x10's....but pound for pound the Tec Amp gear is unbelievable....

The good news about a 900 is that it's such a hammer, an 8 ohm s212 will be amply powered. With the 500 I think it would be more of a consideration to weigh the flexibility of 8 ohms vs the efficiency of 4 ohms

cant com
S212 neo or ceramic drivers?

Haven't heard the ceramic, checked out a handful of and owned the Neo's. My beef with the ceramic is that IIRC its grille cloth and no metal grille. Makes me nervous from a protection standpoint. However, I would lean towards ceramic, from a tonal perspective.

Ya the ceramic would definetly sound nice. Grill cloth looks cool to, for tjat classic look.

I know what you mesn about the protection but really, whose throwing rocks at the cab? Lol
