What more could a bassist need than those two basses right there!Got another!
Picked up yesterday afternoon, an ‘11 BN6 in *mint* condition. Phenomenal sounding bass, just need to get some real FBass strings on it.

Every time I see those pickups, I think how they look like an off/on switch on a phone or iPad. Obviously I spend too much time designing software these days.

Thanks for the response.I don't know for sure what's standard. But mine are single coil Aguilars. I do have a buddy with a VF5 that has the humcancelling ones though, and he had thought those were standard.
I guess that's not much help...
Thanks for the response.
I actually spoke to George on the phone and the standards are in fact, Aguilar 5jHC's for the VF5. Just in case anybody needs that info.
Also, the old F-bass pups which I always thought were Duncans, were not. They were actual F-bass made pickups. Not the same dimensions as the Aguilars for those that might need that info as well.
So, it seems to me that every VF PJ bass I see has the J pup in 60’s position. Does anyone ever order in 70’s position? 60’s looks cramped, but must not be that bad if everyone has that setup. I haven’t played one, so I can’t speak from experience. I would think 70’s would have more bite. Can anyone tell me about their experiences?
I’ve got this VF JJ model, not sure exactly what the spacing is, but it has tons of bite:

Currently strung with DR Pure Blues nickel wounds and is probably the most snarly, 70s sounding bass I’ve ever owned.
Well that explains it!definitely looks to be 70’s!
