Anyone here have an Alder body/Mac ebony or maple board combo? If so, how would you describe the tone (finger style response/slap)?

Not a BN, but I have a VF-P4 with an alder body and maple neck/board, and it's a wonderful bass. Obviously, it's meant to evoke a P-bass tone - which it certainly does - but it is more clear than your average P-bass (unless you really dig in). This one has an Aguilar AG-4P pickup.

Is that fingerboard dot up near the pickups permanent or a sticker?
Its just a sticker the previous owner used to identify the 21st fret

Thanks!!! I believe the previous owner said it was an Auburn Burst finish... Looks similar to what Mike Pedulla used for his older 1990's Cherry Burst finishes... Love it!!!!

Hey everyone, has anyone ever used a stealth string retainer on an fbass‘s low b? Fantastic low b! Just curious about this
Before buying my BN6 I read through every single post of this and the prior 12 F-Bass club threads... And don't remember seeing one of those
Yeah I love my b, I just wonder if the stealth would tighten it up even further so I don’t have to rely on silly technique

the FBass B string is tighter than things I can’t mention here. If someone things it needs to be tighter, they might want to work on their basic technique.

I’m sure F Bass would’ve made their basses with retainers if they needed them. But they really don’t.
