All the FBasses I know can go lower than the fretboard so I wonder what may be going on there. I am sure you may have already checked the bridge itself, and make sure all its mechanical parts are as they are supposed to be.I have an email in to the fine folks at Fbass, but I thought I would ask here as well: I can't seem to lower the action on my BN5 Deluxe (I'm the 2nd owner) to what I find to be a "playable low action" on other basses that I own. Also, the relief seems to need to be set for greater forward-bow than I would like as well. Any suggestions, anyone? I'd be happy to provide precise measurements and am eager to accept any advice. I usually am able to do my own setup, fret edge dressing, nut filing etc. but I'm stuck on this one. Thanks for reading.

Fret buzz on the first 7 frets when adjusted for less relief. What made you feel as if it needed more forward bow?
Anyone have a VF5 pj they are looking to sell or a bn4? Bonus for fretboard inlays.![]()
Probably you know your setups well but just saying loud you might double check the string nut saddles - sometimes when these are worn down you get that excess buzz on first fretsFret buzz on the first 7 frets when adjusted for less relief.
They are low as well, good call. Wonder if that's the first thing to do.Probably you know your setups well but just saying loud you might double check the string nut saddles - sometimes when these are worn down you get that excess buzz on first frets
Yeah, check the nut slots,I’ve only owned one bass that had a buzz on two strings that I couldn’t dial out and it turned out to be the nut slots. They are low as well, good call. Wonder if that's the first thing to do.
I do have backbuzz at the 7th fret on the B but figured that to be an unrelated problem. Maybe not, huh?
I appreciate the insight. Thanks for that!
