Club Fbass (thread 13)

Yeah, looks like the gauges are a bit different

F Bass
  • B: .128″
  • E: 102″
  • A: .085″
  • D: .063″
  • G: .043″

La Bella
  • B: .128″
  • E: 105″
  • A: .085″
  • D: .065″
  • G: .045″

In the fine print, looks like it may also be the scale length

"Our strings are wound for us specifically in an Extra Long Scale for modern F Basses (34” & 34.5” with the current headstock design). Note that the strings will not work on our older 34” basses with the B or E string tuners closer to the nut. If they’re strung on a regular 34 inch scale or shorter, then the windings may snap at the tuner peg. There is a transition of taper windings at the peg end of the string, and as soon as the larger diameter wind starts to wrap on the post, the core will snap. The problem is worsened on smaller diameter tuner posts. Before winding, the installer needs to lay them out to make sure the larger windings do not wrap on the posts. If so, the user needs to use 34 inch scale strings or shorter. If the player wants exposed core strings, they may need to purchase regular scale, 34” LaBella Super Steps, but still check the length before winding around the posts."

I had no idea. Looks like it just barely makes it on my old-school, strung-through-body, ebony bridge BNF5. (To be clear, photo is of F Bass strings.)

Tell your friend ;) that I went from bass direct to my Epifani UL901 and then XLR output directly to audio interface to Logic. Bass head was flat. I just got the bass so I am experimenting with EQ totally flat (no boost whatsoever) and the tone knob was probably all the way open. Using the Fbass strings since just got the bass a couple of months ago :bassist::hyper:!
