Was playing my F bass at practice last night and was blown away by how even notes were string to string in the mix. Wish the nut was a little wider but man theres a lot of things that are just right on this bass! Stays in position no matter how you wear it, light, and beautiful!

BN or VF? I find when I only play my BN for a couple of weeks and then strap on one of my other basses they tend to feel bulky by comparison . I could see a day where it's my only bass along with another BN or Studio model. Have yet to try out a VF anywhere. There is a gorgeous trans red VF in the classifieds right now. Jim

I feel the same way, my BN4 is more like an extension of me. I really haven't played my other bass since I got the BN4, but will keep it as a back up just in case.

Thanks guys, Im afraid my photo skills don't do it justice. How do you guys run your pickup heights? With the radiused covers I some times find myself hitting the covers and kind of stumbling on fast runs crossing the A string. I know its technique more then anything (hence the popularity of ramps with the "jazz shredders") but I'm curious. I know its the finish on the covers somewhat.

For me. lower is always safer. Less interaction between the strings and the PUPs, and volume can always be made up somewhere else in the chain. I've had my Fbass covers get in the way a bit, and I lowered them, with no real tangible effect on the sound, IMHO.
