So I made the trip to Hamilton to pick up my BN5. I was so excited to get my hands on it and to talk with George about my next build (if I can ever afford it) that I forgot to ask him what type of ash it is. Sorry. Here's a couple crappy cell phone pics of her and her sisters. I will find out the ash cos now I need to know.

Received an update on my VF6-PJ Fretless build today. Due to NAMM builds stepping up, my bass will be delayed 2 1/2 months.
However my bass will now be built by George personally up to the finishing process. That was an unexpected surprise.

Yeah, I just put in an order for 33" scale, Mac ebony board, trans blue BN6 and was quoted 8 months. I died a little inside, but it will be worth the wait.
Wow, you guys. I admire your patience. I'll add, though, that those basses definitely are worth waiting for.
My BN5 and VF5-PJ will keep me company, so I'll be okay...
A sad day today. I decided that the unlined BNF6 was not gonna work for me. I've been playing a 5 string almost exclusively for the past twenty years. I just couldn't get my fingers to deal with the 6er. I know many of you are avid 6 string players and can't imagine playing anything else. If you love 6 string bases there is a beautiful piano black BNF6 now available at Fbass. The good news is Marcel spent about an hour with me helping me to figure out what will best fit my needs. We have it narrowed down to two configurations. Hopefully after the weekend I'll make a decision and put my order in to replace that black beauty.
Man, I am sorry to hear that because now I have to talk myself out of buying it daily!
Still holding out for the AC6. On a happier note... I know Marcel et al will help you find just the right one for you. Based on your previous selections, I can hardly wait to see it.

Hi All. My band just put out a promo video that I played my Fbass VF5 in (as well as my 63 Pbass for one song.) The Fbass has Aguilar DCB pickups in it and while I love those pickups I have come to realize that I am just much more of a jazz bass kind of person, so I am going to be switching them to some Nordy big singles. Hopefully they will be a good fit with the FBass pre-amp.
Nice... love the look, tone!, and the song selection. I have the Aguilar Noise Canceling J pickups in my VF5 and I like them a lot. I am considering adding them to my Fender J, but I am also considering selling it as it rarely gets played. Let us know how those Nordy's work out.

The Nordy NJ5 single coils come in the soap bar shape as well if you wanted to have a “regular or conventional” JJ configuration.
I have the in house FBass JJ pups in my VF5 and just love the tone they provide.

Do you find the Fbass jj pickups noisy at all. I know single coils can have a bit of hum sometimes. I find my j pup in my vfpj5 when soloed can be a bit noisy. Was thinking of a jj but wondering about the noise factor.
