Like Rogers pre-amp. To me it sounds like a passive bass run into a console with a tad of compression. It’s a great already processed bass tone applicable in many situations.
Also, REALLY like Chopper's/Alien Audio tweaked Mo West pre he uses in his basses. A little more subtle than Rogers. Sounds like a passive bass going into a Neve strip.
Lots of good choices out there.
For me, 90-95% of the time it’s a Moollon through a FatBoy DI and an Empress compressor.

I’ve owned 2 older/brown guard JV’s and 2 newer/red guard ones.
Andi mentioned it was just availability. They liked the brown guards in that they seemed more aged/vintage. Then they were unavailable from they manufacturer. So, they found another manufacturer and they were only available in red.
Personally, I think the brown works on some colors like your burst etc. And the red fits some colors better like Oly White.
I’m sure Andi can add some clarity if I’m off base.

Just managed to get on top of this thread. I joined the club by ordering a Moollon Classic P a month ago and now I am at 1/36th 1/42th of the waiting line as per what Andi said.
