I have had the opportunity to play my J Classic plenty while also having a set of Moollon pickups in addition that I’ve passed through several other J style instruments. The key takeaway for me is that they have more low-mid presence in both neck and bridge position most noticeably when solo’d - it’s to the point where the neck pickup is close enough to my Fender P that I really just take the J out anymore and use the neck soloed if I want a P sound. As you might expect, the full scope of the sound of the Moollon doesn’t reside entirely in the pickups when you move them to another instrument but they were much more pleasing to me place in other J’s than wherever was already in them. I also like that the Moollon pickups are a little darker in the high frequencies, to my ear I prefer the sound of brightening a dark pickup with EQ than darkening a bright pickup in the same manner. How would people with Moollon jazz basses describe the tone of these pickups compared to other well known jazz bass pickups?
Say to Fralins, Duncans, Aguilar etc. Thinking of ordering a set but have never really heard them.
Thought I was finally joining the club... might have to wait until Monday. I am not someone who had an order in - managed to find a P classic IV.
Love it. CongratsPicked up a used P Classic IV here recently from our own @melodiaopus, and while there was nothing "wrong" with the stock pickguard, I reached out to Andi and grabbed one of their tortoiseshell guards. The finish was supposed to be Ice Blue Metallic but went heavy on Inca Silver during the making. Looks pretty lush to me

The Gator case suffered some shipping damage but protected the bass like a champ! So happy to finally have my hands on one (by some small miracle). The shop in Korea does not ship overseas so I begged my friend who lives in Incheon for assistance.

Nagwon Instrument Arcade
Nagwon Instrument Arcade has traditionally been Korea's largest collection of music stores and is very close to Insa-dong. The second and third floors of the Nagwon building has a few hundred music stores clustered together. Wind instruments, string instruments, percussion, pianos, electric...english.visitseoul.net
The main dealer is called Werock I think. He didn’t have any in stock when I was there months ago. I found mine at another all bass boutique shop there. Just walk around and you’ll find the couple of bass shops. It’s a fun place to be.
Thank you! That spot is on my shortlist, but doing online research has been tricky. This is super-helpful.Go here:
