Club Sadowsky!!!

Hey, I saw that one on ebay I think...Forget the looks, (that's just character)how does she play? Love the feel of the older necks!

It plays nice. I did get it off eBay a few days ago. It's very worn. I'm surprised 1 person could cause that much wear and tear to a 10 year old bass, especially a NYC Sad. I guess it's shows that this bass sounds great when played live. I haven't been able to try it out w my band yet.
It was very bright with rounds on it. But I put a set of Labella flats on and it's much better for me.

My friend Alex works at Sadowsky and finally talked me in to getting one.

I'll post some more detailed pics of the wear later today.

you are #328. welcome :)

I'll join in!

Did you handle this yourself or did you have Sadowsky have this done? Are they Sims Custom?

They are Sims Custom. On the first two I sent the necks directly to Martin Sims (JJ5, not pictured and the blue 5-24 w/ blue lights, recently sold). Mike Lull wired the JJ and another local luthier did the wiring on the 24 fret. We changed one of the pots to push/pull and wired in a separate 9v battery. The most recent one (PJ 5 w/ red LED's) was done by Sims through the shop during construction. They have certainly come in handy for me. Funny story...had eye surgery two days before a Christmas show and they put a small air bubble in the eye to help healing. So when i tuned up and turned the lights on there were 20 instead of ten
led's...looked like runway lights. Played in the dark that night but it must've been ok because I still got paid.

I think you are right! David always destroyed the finish inside the cutaway until I pointed out to him that his rings were doing this! I think the only Sadowsky he has now is the Metro I gave him after Katrina.

Thanks Roger and Dave Hill! I just did a search for David Barard and found this pic:

Also, here are some other pics of the wear and tear. He must have used this bass nightly for years.
