Did some more action adjustment also. VERY crucial w/the flats I use.(& I lowered pup ht accordingly). The VTC is absolutely indispensable to me when at pan detent. The more time I'm on this thing, the more I wanna put a skirt on it & take her out for dinner. :D
BTW - I just pealed off the plastic protector on the spare tort PG I got w/my build & it's sompin' special bro. Highly recommended.

No, not at all. I will post this question here though. I've found an MV5-24 that I wouldn't mind scooping up. I've done a lot of reading in the recent weeks but find somewhat limited information about this model (24 fret vintage). While the extra room on the plank could be nice I fear that it might leave things a little cramped when it comes to slapping. Anyone have any insight into this? Pros and cons for the 24 board on a jazz?

You're going to love it! I have a Metro WL4 in CAR with Morado fingerboard and have not had time to write much of a review on it yet, but I will say this: it's fricken' awesome. I love the neck. It weighs 9lbs! I REALLY love the single coil pups. I think I like the SC pups better than the HC pups on my NYC. Have not had any noise issues. And my Morado fingerboard is beautiful, smooth, and snappy. It was a little dry when I got it, so I put some Hydrate on it, which took care of that and darkened it a little and made it look richer. The mid boost is nice - I've played around with it only a little, and I think I like it set at 800 Hz, narrow Q setting best (I think most like the defalut 500 Hz wide Q setting). I usually play with the boost off, but it came in handy a few times while jamming the other night. Setup was great. I had to adjust the truss rod a little initially (to be expected) as it shipped from warm, humid Florida to cold/dry northern MN . Has not needed an adjustment since, and plays great! Build quality and fit and finish are as nice as my NYC (and other NYC's I've owned).
The wiring in the control cavity shows the same OCD-like amazingly clean wiring/layout and soldering that get's my ex-electrical engineer heart pounding (I'm a recovering electrical engineer - I'm in a 12 step program for now which has really helped me and others like me fit into society again :help:). I have not detected any dead spots, in spite of not having graphite bars in the neck...well, there may be a VERY subtle one at C# on the G string, but nowhere near what I have one my 1998 NYC J4 (that was made before Roger started using thicker headstocks and graphite bars in the neck) and other bolt-on basses. The Hipshot D-tuner is real nice for playing worship and praise music at church, and that along with the 22 frets pretty much negates the desire for a 5-string for when I play at church. It may make my beautiful NYC J4 natural quilt top with maple fingerboard obsolete!

The WL5 arrived and it could been shipped from Roger new, still has the protective plastic still on the bass. Very inspirational tone and yes, I'm thinking about doing a clip and a short review at some point (although Russell's review pretty much nails it). Thanks Sok Monkee, Chasarm, and Joebone for helping and pointing me in the right direction..........

Maybe for an "I'm In" pic on the bass' 1st anniversary.
(Keep in mind unlike the J pg, I have to remove all knobs & if I take off the pg, the pots are not tied down to the body - just to the top of the pg. The locking nuts fix the pots to the pg even though the shafts go through a hole in the body. It's a bit of work.)

@NAMM... well... tomorrow, actually... but the weather here is AMAZING... went from a deep 11 degree 6" of snow to 70+ degrees and sunny. Sitting here typing this up with the hotel door open and it's great. I'll have to see if any Sadowsky basses show up in some booths. :)
