Great band I like the FOH recording where you can hear crowd, and bar sounds in the mix! Sadowsky sounds great as well.

Thanks!!! I think every one of these clips showcases this magical ability to sound both thick AND present in the mix. I go for a very dark tone, and yet I just can't seem to obscure it in a mix. Somewhere I've got some clips with some slapping, and even with the flats it sounds perfect.
And +1 to the advent of these cool little handheld recorders. To think that I have the same quality of sound as those old hippies I used to see at shows with DAT machines and hi-end condenser mics, in something the size of a remote control.

Diggin' the tone on that first one. Perfect amount of grit under the thick punch of that tone. Also very nice!

The key to good pics is cheap tripod ($15 at radio shack) + no flash + the timer (so the camera has time to stop moving after you press the button). Works pretty well for me.
Nice work, Mikebass! I've got to try playing more with a pick. My was impressed with the tone and asked if you were playing a five-string. Great freaking tone!

ElMon, I'd love to see you guys park a dig recorder right out front & bring it home. I did that w/ a friend's Steely Dan cover band at a club ( lots of ambience) & it was WORKIN' ! Will host "AJA" from that if anyone is interested. (no Sad' but it's THERE)

I lucked out on that U5. The week we were going in the studio, I stopped in Guitar Center (something I try not to do if at all possible) to get a Monster Cable. I asked the guy about the U5 thinking I'd like to try it and he says that all he has is a used one! Walked right out the door with it! It is a great piece for going direct that allowed me to sit right next to the drummer and record "live".

FYI - The last 2 tracks are uploaded and all are a free download now. All songs were on my Sadowsky except for "The Fall" which is my Lakland Skyline Hollowbody strung with flats.
