Club Sadowsky!!!

I've never done any home recording until tonight. I'd like to thank folks here, especially Ken Jung, for recommending the Zoom Q3 video recorder. I ordered one on Monday, it arrived today, and was easy as heck to set up.

Soooo, here's my first video. Lighting is crappy and my playing isn't tight, but it's a little something for those of you who've wanted to hear my Sadowsky MM5.

Cool, looking forward to more. Your Sad really is unique. It has qualities of both a Sad and a MM, but I wouldn't say it sounds like one or the other. I guess it really is more of a mixture of tones? Regardless, sounds great. Thanks for posting!

True. I wouldn't call Whitey an MM clone, but I didn't expect that... it's a Sadowsky, after all. I think the difference is in the preamp: the Sadowsky pre is cleaner, especially when compared to the vintage 2-band MM.

Whitey gets closer to the MM vibe when I boost bass, boost treble more, and then roll back the VTC some, which lowers the treble voicing a bit. When I get set up better (a tripod will help!) I'll record some different settings... including series mode, which of course has phatter mids. And yeah, I'll dial in some dirt and run 'er through my Berg NV610... that's my happy place!

Good for you Rob. I suspect that's what you wanted all along & just wanted to make sure. It's gonna be a killer. The Madagascar sounds SO sweet w/ the PJ. Be well bro.

no need to apologize. This place is open to anybody interested in Sadowsky gear. Where would you get more info about it?

If you like how the bass plays don't let it go, just make the store do the right thing and send you the VTC. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Fran.

Got it all straightened out this morning. They're going to send me the VTC kit and cover the cost of a local luthier installing it for me. So, just a minor set back but they certainly made it right! I'll get pics up later. :bassist:
