Cool! I made this back in the 90's to evaluate the Lightwave system. Never made another. Nuff said.

Whereas I gotta say I don't like the big, cumbersone bridge that Lightwave can result in (I tend to rest my hand on the bridge while picking, for instance), what was it about that setup that made you walk away from the Lightwave system?

At least in the few lightwave systems I've tried out, +1.

And even worse, IMHO, they add complexity and delicacy that make it a risky instrument to transport. Another one of those "cool ideas" that just didn't pan out both tonally and practically when actually put to the live test, IMHO.

Is the only variance on this bass the neck PU position, or is the bridge PU also more forward than the standard placement on the modern?

EDIT: to answer my own question:

It looks as if it is about a half inch forward from standard modern.

I would always stop and stare when BluesyCat posted pic's of that incredible bass but the triple play here has gone way too far. I have a full blown, acute case of "Red Quilt, BEMaple" lust. Those instruments are absolutely STUNNING!!!! Congrats to the owners, tip o' the hat to the builder.
