They do make them, they almost did for me. What changed was that I wanted a reverse PJ and they suggested against it (they would have done it if I really wanted it though, I'm sure); their reason being if you're a person who slaps there's very little room to pop between the P and the neck. I prefered the room over the extra 3 frets so I switched. Just food for thought.

I'm sure Pat would do his typical stellar job on it, and it's of course only your choice to make, but since you asked... I'd leave it as is for two reasons... 1.) I'm not really a fan of making irreversible changes/mods to high end instruments, and 2.) While CAR is a cool color, it'd be a shame to cover that grain up.I picked up #4153 a few weeks back - sweet bass with a few bumps and bruises, but I like me some CAR over sunburst and have contacted Pat Wilkins about a refin... thoughts?
So an odd thought crossed my mind (when doesn't one). Since Sadowsky builds hollowbody guitars, anyone know if Roger has ever chimed in on a hollowbody bass? Obviously, it is a whole different animal but fun to think what it might be like!

Yeah, me and the double soapbar 24-fret didn't get along as well longer term (tho clearly it's pure magic for other folks) and for a "modern" Sadowsky, the vintage 24-fret is just EXACTLY what I've always wanted to fill that slot.I think the new Sadowsky vintage 24fret 5 string is massively cool. Without a doubt, that will be the next Sadowsky I custom order !
