1/16" wrench....The same one you use to adjust your bridge saddles on the NYC bass.

Does anybody know if Sadowsky would equip another colored hardware on a bass they have in stock (for the up-charge fee of course) if one were to purchase said bass?

If it's a NYC then Yes, we can change it for you. (Chrome, Black or Gold).
If its a Metro, No...Chrome it is.
Just call the shop.

Yes! I mean, I still have no issues whatsoever with the standard width, but I've always wanted one of the smaller one cause I knew I'd like it better.

I'm on the other side of the fence.

The Lakland fivers have amazingly comfortable necks apart from that narrower nut. To borrow a phrase, they are absolutely not my flavor.

I'll take the standard Sadowsky spec every day and twice on Sunday.

I dont know. .Try it on yours and see... if there were a buffer between the Pups and the Pan you would think there is no difference... But there is no buffer.

Can someone explain this to me please?
I have Vol+Pan on mine.
If Vol is 100% and Pan in centre then how is this difference to 2xVol on 100%?
Is there something in volume knob variance?
I'm no tekko. A truss rod tweak is about it for me.
I like up-close and intimate!

I have played this bass for 8 years with Vol/Pan... and got a wild hair after playing my LG5 to go VOL. VOL....
Its hard to tell how the pups interact with each other since they are really different when wired one way or the other.
But Vol Vol you can really hear the interaction which i like..
As you mentioned, the convenience of the PAN is really a great thing .. I often use VOL swells at times on certain gigs..And the Master Vol makes that easy.
And there is no buffer between the pups and the Pan or Vol Vol so you can hear the interaction better. IMO...
I didnt notice any volume loss at all...

My pre-full-time music gig was in the aerospace world ,waaaay back in the 80s.. So im always experimenting and inventing..

It's actually one more potentiometer, not one more capacitor. There are three pots in the vol-pan and only two in the vol-vol. The tonal diffs have more to do with the pickups loading against each other when connected via ganged blend pot.

I'd have to defer to more of an expert if someone really wanted to get into specifics on signal effects, but to me, the main diffs are you lose a little of the "openness" and you lose a little gain. At least IME, the effects of both are small enough I'm happy with putting up with them to get the convenience of the master volume control. Others may not be. Personal pref. All I know is, LOTS of vendors ship out LOTS of basses with vol-pan and they aren't all being returned and/or converted to vol-vol.

No surprise that my favorite bass comes equipped with my favorite strap lock.

And kudos to Roger for talking Will Lee out of the flush-mount version. Sure they look clean, but if you forget your locked strap, well, you've gotta play sitting down.

You are exactly right. Roger is ALL about making sure all the practical things that might get in a professional's way are eliminated or at least minimized as much as possible. He probably owns a current edition of "Murphy's Law" with all the pros he's dealt with over the years... maybe even wrote a few chapters.
