Club Sadowsky!!!

Well thanks everybody! :)

Lizzy, I really loved the tone on the first song. You were going direct into the board, right?

Yep. My signal path is just my bass > EBS MultiComp > Sansamp BDDI > True Systems preamp to the converter. We don't even have a board. ;)

Same exact setup on both songs, but one mix is louder for some reason.

Also, since we only had two cameras, we did two takes and moved them for the second one to get more angles. So two of the angles don't match the actual audio (which is the second take, for anyone curious). :ninja:

Lizzy,

Great stuff!!!!! Love your tone and playing on it. "If Love is Strong" is a great track!!! Nice job!

Another +1 for nice playing and great tone on Lizzy's recordings.

Here's what I don't get. When TB'ers discuss Roger's sound, the Sadowsky gets categorized as "modern" and "aggressive." Yet, whenever I hear a Sadowsky "in the mix," it usually has this sitting-perfectly-engineered-proto-J sound going on; and I and many find that sound useful and highly desirable. Lizzy's recording is a prime example. I would NOT personally characterize that sound as "modern" or "aggressive." It just sits there where you want it. And that's the way my personal experience with the Sadowsky sound has been. The sound guys just love them. I'll have to dissent on the "modern" and "aggressive" labels. I just think they sound great. My 2c.

Depends where you have the VTC set....I'd bet Lizzy had it rolled back some.
Sting choice can also effect the ''modern thing.''
Could be and would be interesting to know.

To date, I have only used the VTC when I am trying to get that sound that a J makes when you go to the bridge pup and take the tone control to about 85% rolled off. That's the one sound I can not 100% duplicate on the Sadowsky, but I don't use it that often; so, no biggie.
