Just came back from my first inear rehearsal with my new Vintage 5 w. Big Singles.

Sound was PURRRFECT: right between the articulation of a good J and the fatness of a a great P!

The easiest way to tell is the pole pieces. Nordstrand NP's have diagonal aligned pole pieces.

I got my first Sadowsky a week ago. Bought it from JonnyDi, who by the way is a very nice guy do deal with. I’ve been playing a Warwick thumb for the last 23 years but have felt it was time to move on to a different sound. Can’t be happier Have had a hard time putting the bass down since I got it. It’s an absolutely awesome bass.

HA!!! No thanks Jerry! I had to give up being the keeper of the club to Fran because I just didn't have time back then.
Ya know, this is a cool little "sub forum" sorta. When I started this thing almost every thread would end up in some sort of bashing or something and would be shut down. The mis-information was flat out nuts and all it seemed was some would just want to bring things down for no other reason than to just be an arse.

And I have a soft spot for those older "finger basses".
It's a love/hate thing. (hmm, wonder what one would sound like with a set of HC's and a Sad pre-amp.......)

Just dropped by the shop today and 5858, 5839 and 5817 were HOT! Something about those Madagascar RW boards.... I reckon they look and sound as good as their Brazillian counterparts!

I'm certain that there is no one that doesn't respect Sadowsky basses. We all know that they aren't for everyone but that's what make the bass world go around.

You bet! Thanks bro. There have been some very impressive rosewood boards in this thread. I've got a "thing" for spider web grain pattern in RW. It's the unusual wood that inspires me I guess. I consider myself blessed w/ that plank!
