Club Sadowsky!!!

I can't wait to see it in person, it is a tough color to shoot. If it looks just like the pic and is a little on the coppery side vs silvery green, no worries here!
It is a tough color to shoot. My own pictures of my Marcus 5 make it look Inca Silver, which is most definitely not the case. So, I haven't been able to shoot mine. It is truly a weird color.

Dead flat certain it will be a killer bass for you in any case.

Off topic, except for color; the P on the right is a Wilkins shoreline gold re-fin that was shot about 10 years ago.

That's it.

Sadowsky does 3 colors, Frost Gold, Shoreline Gold and Antique Shoreline Gold. The antique is lighter, almost a champagne or silvery green I guess you could say. That refin Chef posted looks more like the Shoreline Hold. My Frost Gold Sad is a brighter, more yellow gold.

I'll try to take some good outside shots of both and see how it comes out.

I'm really one the fence with it, and it's a hard decision.

It much brighter, and a little deeper than my Lakland ash/maple P5 with the same Nord NP5 pickup.

The J pup solo'd sounds substantively different than my Sadowsky ash/maple MV5JJ, and overall it's both brighter and deeper than that bass.

I'm not at all sure what I'm gonna do...

Chef,

Return it and get an Alder/Rosewood PJ5. Then you'll be talking! :D

I've had three of them now and they all kill. They are amazing basses that do it all (or at least most of it.) :smug:

Is it possible to configure the Sadowsky on board preamp to provide both boost, and cut?
AFAIK, the Sadowsky circuit is boost only; except for the VTC, which provides some cut in the highs.

Curious what tones you are looking for that require cut. IME the tone is pretty useful flat and gets better with judicious boost. The VTC does provide some form of cut on the treble side.

I have to say, the continuance of the Sadowsky Club threads just kill me every day. Makes me want another. Lovin' everything that pops up (BluesyCat's transparent red bass is ridiculous). Maybe every Sadowsky looks better based on how killer my Metro sounds. I plan on having shots up of mine soon, but it needs a cleaning and new strings. It's been gigged a ton this year so far. And it has more work coming its way tomorrow and next weekend.
