Ahhh..got it. That's the P talkin'. So, with that pup, rolling the bass all the way off is still too much for you? Guess I could see that. P's can cover a lot of sonic turf.I'm looking to trim a little fat off the MV5PJ.
It's huge.

I have to say, the continuance of the Sadowsky Club threads just kill me every day. Makes me want another. Lovin' everything that pops up (BluesyCat's transparent red bass is ridiculous). Maybe every Sadowsky looks better based on how killer my Metro sounds. I plan on having shots up of mine soon, but it needs a cleaning and new strings. It's been gigged a ton this year so far. And it has more work coming its way tomorrow and next weekend.

Seeing how much you struggle to make this bass to sound "just right", I got to say return it and get another model, IMHO.
It's a good point of view, on the other side, he's got a lot of compliments from fellow band members and even him loved the tone from the audience. Maybe he just needs time to get to know the instrument a little better.
Maybe so. But there is no question about how good the bass sounds, objectively. A quick look at the headstock tells you how good.
However, at end what counts is your personal feeling as a player. If you don't feel totally comfortable with how it sounds to your ears while you play you'll eventually part with it, sooner or later.
Great! I won!completely right. you win![]()
Final verdict:
She's going back. Great bass, and one I ended up liking in some ways.
Just not as much as my A-Game basses.
The Sadowsky approval period has sold me on one I wasn't sure I would in the past, but, not this time.
It's kinda funny though; cause I do have P basses I like and use and they're all ash/maple, I figured I just had the woods wrong with the RV5PJ...
I've tried both the RV5PJ, and MV5PJ, and neither of those are 'my thing,' and quite frankly, that's very useful information. In one's quest for the Holy Grail of Tone-Land, it's just as important to know what doesn't work for you as it is to know what does...
The RV5JJ and MV5JJ: very much my thing, and staples in my tool box.
I expect I'll be a Sadowsky player for many years yet, and there's still some incarnations I haven't owned yet...

The specs....
WL5
Ash body, Brazillian RW board, Single coils, Olympic White with matching headstock and strung with Sadowsky flats.
Really impressed with the Sadowsky Flats on the WL5.
In passive it sounds very close if not exactly like my 64 Jazz. In normal mode (preamp engaged) It still very warm but its got some bite even though its Flatwounds but with the mid boost engaged...... Man its real aggressive ...like some body put in a an extra single coil in the 70's position on the bass!
With the bridge soloed it s got a real sweet honky, nasally sound as well.
So overall can't be happier! Just can't wait to get it home and play around with it more.
I'll be visiting the shop on Monday.. Any other stores to check out in the city besides the ones on 48th ???
That's the exact sadowsky spec I'd order if I was feeling flush ... About the only thing I recon could be better than my metros. I would definitely put rounds on it though! Amazing bass.
Perhaps Fodera?

Fodera and Sadowsky would definitely be on my list. Hopefully in December!![]()
