I don't think you get the funds until it sells and passes the 7 day inspection. I'd contact Kevin about it.

Yes sir. I was going to start the build by first paying cash. Then use my current Sadowsky for the bulk of the remainder upon it's completion. That is if this is allowed. But I will call and find out from Kevin. Thank you Nola bass and Chef for your input. I really appreciate it.

Rather than take the risk of being branded an insufferable bore and repeat the long story I posted in another forum here, I'll just state that I played my WL this weekend at our big gig, and while things didn't quite go as planned, I thought my bass sounded great at the show.

I posted the long story here, but if you just scroll down to the end of the original post there's a link to some video of the show. I had brought a Zoom Q3HD along.

If you're curious, the WL had new DR hibeams, and I rolled off the VTC a little as a result, and also boosted the bass some. I ran it through a Mesa M9 into a Bergantino AE212, and the sound guys used the DI on the Mesa as well as micing the cab. I completely forgot about the midboost in all the confusion of the day and the gig and didn't even mess with knobs much.

Really, that's about the only one I haven't played yet.
I've not played a WL, but I don't image it's worlds of diff with the mid-boost off, eh?
And, I've not played any of the 24 fret variants, but I really would never use the range, and I can't imagine that changing baseline tone much either.

I'm totally happy with the MV5PJ experience. The Sadowsky trail period is a great thing; and they're so super cool about things. I'm kinda always actively looking for a new way to give them some business; and I would have exchanged the PJ for the trans black Modern...but it went out already.

I still have two Sadowskys I like lots:):)

Yeah, I normally use the mid boost on a few songs for more bite but I completely spaced on using it on the last gig. I wasn't "all there" for the gig, I guess. I nearly forgot to turn on the distortion during "Mississippi Queen." Duh.

It's not a big enough thing to warrant getting another bass but it's a nice thing to have, if you remember you have it. :hiding:

Yeah, I'd classify it as nice to have but not a necessity. Now, others may find it different. What really has jumped out for me on the Will Lee is the neck, I love it (and thus my new NYC soon to arrive has the same profile/nut width).

I will go out on a limb and say that this is the most beautiful bass that I think I've ever laid eyes on. Children under ther age of 18 should not be allowed to view it without parental consent.

Somewhat off topic....do you like using the Zoom Q3HD? Wow, just got done reading that long post. Glad she's doing okay.

Love the Q3HD. You can set it up pretty much anywhere out in the audience and it will give you a faithful reproduction of how it sounds at that spot, good or bad. So it's a good, though sobering tool for evaluating one's sound and performance. I've even used it during a performance, listening to the previous set during breaks and using it as a resource to gauge the mix and adjust the vocal level and overall mix.

I've mounted it with clamps, or just stuck it on a small tripod on a table or whatever works for the place. In the video clip from the other thread, I just handed it and a small tripod to the singer's boyfriend. Didn't even really tell him how it worked other than showing him the on switch and the record button. He set it on a table near the mixing board and left it running there for the show.

I saw someone with a Q3HD at one of our shows, holding it in the front row. Then the video taken by that guy showed up on her facebook page, so I got to see and hear it. It's the best quality live video I've seen of us. Looks and sounds pro. But it was just taken by some guy holding it in his hand during the song.

It's so easy a tired old fart like me can use it. And it handles bass and high volumes well.

Visited the shop yesterday and once again a great experience ... I'm picking up #5776 today and I may get #5839 as well.. I was at the shop back in April and loved #5776, but I thought it had too much neck dive because it's really light.. It wasn't really noticeable yesterday which I think I can attribute to my stomach being bigger or smaller..
:):):) The scale says I've lost weight, but I don't feel it..
I love #5776.. #5839 is a fantastic bass as well and would be great in my current main gig which is a six piece with 2 guitars, keys, drums and female lead singer as well as 4 of us sing as well.. We also add a 3 piece horn section on occasion.. What I found is with the 2nd guitar player and the digital processor he uses for his amp sound/tone, I can't always cut through.. #5839 has strong musical mids and the neck with the 1 3/4" nut plays like a dream.. Rob had it right on the sound/tone...
